Established in 1995, Chaparral is one of Calgary’s best-known southeast lake communities—built around a 32-acre man-made lake and a 21-acre park with two waterfalls. Lake access and facilities are tied to membership requirements for Lake Chaparral properties, and benefits typically include access to the lake/park during operating hours and certain member privileges. (This is a key differentiator versus non-lake communities—great value, but with rules and fees to understand up front.)

Chaparral is positioned in southeast Calgary with straightforward access to major routes and nearby shopping and services, making it practical for commuting, school runs, and daily errands. It’s the kind of location where you can get out for weekend activities quickly, while still enjoying a quieter residential feel at home. 


Schools
Chaparral has an established in-community public elementary option: Chaparral School (K–6).
For Catholic elementary, St. Sebastian School serves the area.
School designations can change by address and boundary updates, so it’s best to confirm eligibility during your home search.
